The affiliation Erie's baseball club had with the Baltimore Orioles lasted 2 seasons, from 1988-1989. Erie welcomed
former major leaguer Bobby Tolan as the affiliate's manager, and after finishing 2nd in their division in 1988, things were
looking up.
In 1989 however, the Erie club took a nosedive, finishing last in their division. Fans were treated to one bright
spot - the appearance of Pete Rose, Jr., in an Erie uniform.
