Mal Fichman was the field boss for the '90 and '94 Erie Sailors.
Fichman began his managerial career in 1979 with the Newark Co-Pilots, and after six other stops
wrapped up his coaching tenure with the Johnstown Johnnies in 1999. Fichman won 4 Frontier League Championships, including
3 in a row with 3 different teams from 1994-1996.
After the 2000 season, Mal was hired by the San Diego Padres as a scout, and is currently a scout
with the Philadelphia Phillies.
